ChrisPC JTV Player

TV is starting to get old in this day and age. It's more convenient to watch whatever and whenever you want over the Internet. That's what ChrisPC JTV Player is for. It's a player for online movies, TV series and more. Instead of using your browser to watch all these, you can use this software to view them in real time directly from your desktop.

ChrisPC JTV Player is freeware and you can download it fairly quick. The installation kit is a bit over 6 Mb and you can have it running in under a minute. During the installation process, you can choose to install a toolbar for Internet Explorer, should you want to.

ChrisPC JTV Player's interface looks like most video players out there. On its bottom edge you will find buttons for standard functions, like Play, Stop, Settings and others. Instead of files from your hard drive, the play list features a list of online media. You can choose a channel using a drop menu, placed above the list. There is plenty to choose from here. The categories you can find here include entertainment, sports channels, radio, Sci Fi, documentaries, TV series and more. The play list's content is organized in two tabs. The first tab features Justin.tv channels and the second is for Veetle Channels. Both have their own categories, full with online entertainment.

There aren't many settings you can make to ChrisPC JTV Player. Clicking the settings button from the bottom edge of the interface will bring down a small menu where you can make interface related changes, add new channels or access an advanced settings panel. Even though it says "advanced settings", don't expect too much. These involve basic options, like choosing an interface skin, a channel list load mode or the area where the play list should be displayed: on the right or on the left side of the main window.
